Elaborated and developed by SANTA ROSA BUREAU CULTURAL for the 13th Regional Division of the National Institute for the Artistic and Historic Heritage (IPHAN/MG), the Bell Rings Inventory retrieves a traditional artistic manifestation of Minas Gerais according to the Brazilian policy of protection and dissemination of intangible cultural goods.
In its first stage, bell ringing was documented in the cities of Ouro Preto, Mariana and Catas Altas. Furthermore, this work served to the acknowledgement and declaration of the language of bells as a Brazilian Intangible Heritage in 2009.
